How to help

The work cannot be done without your financial support. For every dollar you donate to MIWRC, 80% is spent on direct program services. MIWRC meets all standards of the Accountability Wizard of the Charities Review Council, so you can be comfortable that your gift will be responsibly directed to the most pressing community needs.

MIWRC has occasional and regular volunteer opportunities. Read to the children in Cherish the Children Early Education Center, help out with community events, become a regular program volunteer, organize a school supply drive at your church or place of employment. For more information, contact Grant Writer Laura Jones or Executive Director Suzanne Koepplinger at 612-728-2000.

Program Facts

MIWRC looks upstream at social disparities from a community health perspective. Providing housing, early childhood learning, family support, and education builds on family and community strengths. Our asset based approach to the work requires strong infrastructure including accurate and transparent financial systems and quality staffing. Your unrestricted donation helps keep quality in our work. Thank you!

“When she came to MIWRC for housing services, Ann was homeless and caring for her grandchild. With our help, she is now in stable housing and has applied for financial assistance to start a new business. She credits MIWRC’s Family Housing Specialist with helping her find a safe place for her and her granddaughter to live and dream. ”
