The mission of the Minnesota Indian Women's Resource Center (MIWRC) is to empower American Indian women and families to exercise their cultural values and integrity, and to achieve sustainable life ways, while advocating for justice and equity.
MIWRC is looking for an Intake/Billing Coordinator who will coordinate the admission of new clients according to intake criteria and appropriateness. Ideal candidate will also provide administrative functions related to billing and reimbursement of clinical services.
Duties & Responsibilities
Establish and maintain positive relationships with various partners, payers, referral sources, and clients.
Handle daily referral & intake operations.
Create and maintain patient files, records and other information as needed.
Provide administrative support to Clinical Director.
Perform billing functions, including research and resolution to denied/unpaid claims.
Verify insurance coverage and assist with processing claims.
Ensures all documentation needed for billing is collected prior to or soon after accepting the referral.
Answers telephone calls and emails in a professional and timely manner.
Maintain accurate documentation of all correspondence.
Attend team meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
Respond to other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director.
Exemplify professional conduct.
HS diploma or higher.
1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting.
Exhibits strong computer skills to include Windows applications.
Possess excellent interpersonal skills, communication, time management, and organizational skills.
Ability to multi-task.
Detail-oriented with excellent problem solving skills and a desire to acquire new skills.
Understands and honors confidential information of all patients/families and demonstrates good judgment in dealing with sensitive issues.
Addresses challenges and change in the workplace with flexibility, creativity, and a positive outlook.
Must be able and willing to work with others to achieve goals for the higher good.
Must have no current problems related to alcohol or drugs.
Must be willing to submit to DHS Criminal Background Study.
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records, preferably Procentive.
Knowledge and experience of billing processes, health insurance and behavioral health terms.

Job Classification: Part time (24 hours/week) - regular
SALARY RANGE: $14 - $17/Hour
