kinooamaage wii’gaming- (Anishnaabemowin “Place of Learning”)
As Native people are still alive with active culture and ceremony, Kinoomaage Wii’gaming is a space of learning where culture and tradition live. Teachings are offered through virtual and in-person programming.
MIWRC sees culture as prevention in our community.
Our Director of Community Engagement oversees the connection to community and culture-based programming.
Community Engagement Programs include cultural activities and teachings, presentations by knowledge keepers, and connecting community members to culturally relevant and safe ceremonial spaces.
FUNDING & PROGRAM INITIATIVES
These services and activities are supported through a Minnesota Department of Health grant from the Community Driven Approaches to Commercial Tobacco Use grant program.
This program aims to expand access to commercial tobacco cessation education, support, and resources for our community.
